7 Ways To Find Your Mommy Happy

Happy is feeling or showing pleasure or contentment. Have you ever stopped to take a break and wondered what you find pleasure or contentment in? How often does the feeling of happy overtake you? I believe that being happy is essential to having a truly rewarding and meaningful life. Despite the everyday woes that motherhood places on our shoulders we have to find time to be happy—mommy happy.

Happiness is a choice that only you can make for yourself—no one else can find your happy but you. Drew Barrymore once said “I think happiness is a choice. If you feel yourself being happy and can settle in to the life choices you make, then it’s great. It’s really, really great. I swear to God; happiness is the best makeup.”

Here are seven ways you can successfully find your ‘mommy happy’ and start living the life you have always wanted.

1. Love yourself

The key to being happy starts with you. You can’t love others if you don’t love yourself. When you love you, you have even more to give to your family. Learn to be good to you. Treat yourself sometimes and even spoil yourself every blue moon. This will boost your self-esteem and self-love.

2. Accepting who you are

In order to be happy you have to be willing to accept the person that you are right now and allow time for the person that you want to become in the future to appear. You have to accept the mistakes and obstacles from your past and work towards moving forward and don’t look back. Forgive yourself and others will also forgive you to.

3. Be willing to change what you don’t like about yourself

Change or learn to love yourself in spite of your inability to change. I have always struggled with my weight but I never gave up. I gain, I lose and gain again. I have been in the weight battle for 20 years and I am still fighting. I always say, “if you don’t like something about yourself—then change it.” But if you can’t then don’t complain. Live your happy in spite of what you are not ready to change.

4. Commit to me time

Having some time away from the kid’s and hubby are very important in your quest for happiness. This is your time to be selfish and do whatever makes mommy happy or feel good. So take one hour out of every day for yourself. Watch a movie or a show. Go to a Zumba class or read the latest good read. It doesn’t matter what you do, just do whatever makes you happy!

5. Get your love life on track

Relationship drama and issues usually lead to someone being unhappy. Take time to work on your relationship as well as yourself. Do couples activities that you both enjoy and keep doing the little things that made you choose to share your life together.

6. Play dress up

Go out and buy a new wardrobe according to the woman that you desire to be. Dressing up always makes a girl feel good. So go out and shop until you drop and get your make-up and hair done.

7. Relaxation

Make time to relax and unwind–pamper yourself. Go get a massage once a month and a mani-pedi and just relax. Also, go away on a girl’s trip at least once a year with your girlfriends. Party and let your hair down.

I hope you enjoyed these seven ways to find mommy happiness. Please don’t let another year pass without realizing that you deserve to be happy to.
